I always say that to be successful with Google AdSense you have to experiment and test which colors and formats make you the most money on your blog. I still believe that very much, however I get a lot of emails from people that tell me they changed their ad placements or colors and still nobody is clicking. I then usually find out that their blog is fairly new or that they've never really had a steady flow of visitors.

Remember to get people to click the ads on your blog, you first need to have people visiting your blog. Not every visitor is going to click on your AdSense ads either. If you only have a couple of visitors a day it is hard to say which ads will work best for your site. So what I'm trying to say is that not making a load of money from Google AdSense in the beginning is totally normal, but you don't want to go and change the colors and ad placements until you can do some real testing with a large amount of visitors. If you have 100 people coming to your blog everyday and still nobody clicks your ads, then you'll want to make some changes.

Earning a fulltime income from blogging and Google AdSense is definately possible, but you have to be patient and keep your eye on the prize. As long as you keep posting good interesting content, people will notice soon enough. When I first started blogging I did a lot of research on the best ways to earn money blogging, I read at least 100 different e-books on the subject. But no matter what e-book I read it all kept coming back to the same thing, To Be A Successful Blogger You Need Readers! And the best way to get readers is by driving traffic to your blog, one way or another.

I found that writing articles is one of the best ways to get traffic to my blog, and to this day it still works great. The reason that this tactic works so well, is because when you write an article you can then place your URL/link in the article along with your signature. Not only will this create a backlink to your blog from the article directory that the article is posted on, but also when somebody reads your article and they like what they're reading, your link will give them a way to find and start following you. These are the kind of readers you want. Of course the more articles you write the better this will work, as long as your articles are halfway decent.

After you write your articles make sure you submit it to all of the article directories that you can find. There are a ton of free directories out there, like Article Snatch, Go Articles.com, Article Base, and many more. You can just Google the term FREE ARTICLE DIRECTORIES, and you'll see what I mean.
